FEBRUARY NEWS

A very belated Happy 2009!

As business owners, we have been giving a lot of thought to how we will weather this temporary storm and still provide the product that you love.  We are actively working with our purveyors to maintain solid relationships that will allow us to still bring the best local and organic foods to your table.  We also look to continue to reduce our waste and other unnecessary costs that could hurt our mission.

No amount of budgeting or cost cutting would matter if we didn’t continue to see the amazing support from our community each and every day.  You humble us with your patronage.  Thank you for being apart of our success.

Our new fall and winter cafe menus are available to download, and check out our updated catering pages, with seasonal sample menus.  Don’t forget that Portage Bay does a lot more than breakfast, and that our cafes are both available for your upcoming private party!

This winter, we welcomed Justin Newstrum, formerly of Crave, to our South Lake Union location.  We are hearing fantastic feedback about the great specials he is creating for us each week.  If you’re a regular at our first spot, come on down to Number Two and see what’s cooking!

We also promoted Patrick Boin, formerly our Catering Chef, to the position of Executive Chef.  Patrick now oversees all three kitchens, for which we are eternally grateful!

Lastly, regulars from our Roosevelt location are welcoming Bonnie back from maternity leave.  Say hi and be sure to ask about baby Clair, who made her grand arrival on December 4th.

Hope to see you soon!

John and Amy Fair Gunnar
