NOVEMBER NEWS
What an amazing month this has been so far! Thanks to everyone who went out an voted, and especially to everyone who volunteered before and on Election Day. Also, thanks to the 100 people who made our Obama fundraising dinner in October such a success. We raised over $8000!
Our new fall and winter cafe menus are available to download, and check out our updated catering pages, with seasonal sample menus. Don’t forget that Portage Bay does a lot more than breakfast, and that our cafes are both available for your upcoming holiday party!
Here are a few more details about our upcoming Gingerbread House event, which benefits two local homeless charities.
*Two seatings:
4pm-6pm: Family focused event, with light snacks. The minimum donation for this seating is $35 per house.
6:30-9pm: A Grown-Up focused event, with heavy hors d’oeuvres, cash bar and silent auction. Minimum donation is $42 per house.
*More information can be seen at www.gingerbreadproject.org.
*Reservations are required and can be made by emailing gingerbreadhomes@gmail.com or by calling Lori at 206.794.5597.
This is the fifth year we have participated in the event, and our first year hosting. It’s a great opportunity to let your inner Martha Stewart loose in a safe and controlled environment. Come and have great fun for a great cause!
Our plans for our new Ballard location are still moving forward, albeit slowly. The economy has showed us the prudence in moving cautiously, but we still hope to open by spring of 2009. We’ll keep you updated on the progress.
